U r right. Iam not using the ixdp425 (development) board. What iam using is a customised board having IXP425. On this board, I tried with the REDBOOT prebuilt utility for ixdp425 board ( development board) from the web and I could see the console message on my hyperterminal. I was wondering y I cannot observe the same with my U-boot. is there any extra configuration needed? I checked the CFG_IXP425_CONSOLE macro in u-boot and saw thats its assigned to IXP425_UART1 of the IXP425 chip. I also checked the circuit diagram of my customised target platform and found that the console is connected to UART1 only. What could be causing this problem?
