Hi ,
I am trying to cross compile some libraries for ARM board
I will port a Linux OS to the hawkboard.
Want to study u-boot specific to this board so I ll be able to do
this. The first chore is to port u-boot on this board.
PLz help me , I was going through the uboot readme which directed me
to straight away mail and share my concern.

You can find the official port of u-boot for the Hawkboard over at
hawkboard.org, but if you want to build the latest version of u-boot
that can be done as well.

The Hawkboard is very similar to the DA850 EVM so as a first step, you
could simply build u-boot for that board and it should boot just fine.

Did you download the version from hawkboard.org?

In that case, you should be able to follow the instructions on:

http://elinux.org/Hawkboard#Compiling_u-boot_.28bootloader.29

If you are using the git version of u-boot replace
omapl_hawkboard_config with da850evm_config and try to boot that
first. Then as a second step, you can add custom board support for the
Hawkboard.

Hi , I am new to Linux crosscompilation ...u-boot and Porting Linux .
I plan to do this for Hawk board.
currently I am reading hapazardously..

these , alright ... still want to make sure I have the fundamentals in
place before I begin my work.Also want to do my work in a planned and
timely manner .less of timewaste reading through things and not
understanding becoz the fundamentals are not present.
This is how far I have covered till now ... going through the u-boot
compilation and understanding boot process as a general topic , trying
to understand Bootloader role , went through u-boot readme and the
Presentation Document on U-boot.

did some topics like initramdisk and ramdisk ..as I didnt know these.
have knowledge of ARM but not very strong.
Have to finally port on ARM the Linux image probably Android on the hawkboard.
Plan to go through the DLUG Manual .
and Need to study ARM 9ejs and Hawkboard and peripherals in Detail
also the drivers for these...maybe even undetsand how much of the
Linux and the code of Linux as an overview of how mch of this kernel
gets finally on the hawkboard.

Any helpful suggesstions for planning my work.Also wht topics do I
seem to have missed out . which is the quicked and efficeint way to do
my work in short time.
