Does u boot have support for wifi devices?. We need to have a setup in which kernel is booted through tftpboot with a wireless network connection.

No, there's no 80211 stack in uboot, you're welcome to add it (I'd really be
interested to see such work).

I see little chance to add this to U-Boot. Keep in mind that we are a
boot loader. It is way easier just to boot into Linux to have WLAN
connectivity.

I understand that. But it would be very handy in diskless booting where the bootloader has to get the kernel from a server.
