[U-Boot] [STATUS] v2011.12-rc1 is out - release date Dec 23

Hi everybody,

after long struggeling we finally have a -rc1.

Please help testing, so we can fix the remaining issues before the
release, which I decided to shift to December 23.

Real programmers don't comment their code. It was hard to  write,  it
should be hard to understand.

Since Reinhard didn't respond, I queued this patch in my staging
branch. Hope this is okay.

the linkage changes were posted after the merge window, so i wasn't going to 
submit them for inclusion until the next one
