Let imx_get_mac_from_fuse function be a common function, so that other
mx28 boards can reuse it.

MX28 has two built-in FECs (Fast Ethernet Controller).

OCOTP register can be used to only store 4 bytes of MAC addresses.

In order to workaround this limitation, let the MAC address of FEC1 be
the FEC0 address plus one.

Add initial support for Freescale MX28EVK board.

Tested boot via SD card and by loading a kernel via TFTP through
the FEC interface.

It's good, but why not make it completely generic -- like mx28_adjust_mac() -- 
so the users can for example change the last bit of the mac depending on the NIC 
that's used (FEC0 or FEC1). I think I proposed that. It's only a matter of 
adding a parameter (nic #) and renaming it :)

No, please don't ... user might want to do this the other way around so just 
give him the freedom (and you're missing space before +) :) You can move exactly

Should be not better that the additional mac is computed by the (weak)
board function ? Then it is responsibility of the board and his
maintainer to change (if needed) the MAC for the second interface.

What is stored in MX28EVK CUST1 fuse? It seems to be CUST0 increased by 
one. So maybe we should read it from there for FEC1?

It would be nice to have very generic fuse reading function that could 
be used to read a serial number or similar user data. I will work this 
out if you don't like to do it. I'm quite busy now so it might take a 
week or two.

Hi Fabio,

there are still open answers from me and Marek for the first patch:

 mx28: Let imx_get_mac_from_fuse be common for mx28

My main concern is that I dislike to have a new function name only for
the MX.28, and I would like to maintain the same set of functions for
all i.MX SOCs. The rest of the patchset is ok for me, I will send also
my Ack.
