Dear U-Boot users!

My name is Oliver B?hn and I'm a new U-Boot user.

During the past few days I'm trying to get a selfcompiled U-Boot running on our at91sam9260ek board with ST NAND256W3A, which didn't work so far.

I guess there are still some misconfigurations.

Question: Where do I find the doc for all the thousands of config variables like AT91C_SM_TDF and so forth?
Where do I find an explanation of what ECC is?

Helpful hints a very much appreciated.

 Oliver.

If I'm not completely mistaken, those are hardware register
definitions, not config variables. So the data sheet for at91sam9260
is probably the best place to find documentation for it.

Hmm. You are aware that you're posting this to a public mailing list, right? ;-)

I keep seeing comments like this - I'm sure that my IT dept will stick
something similar onto this email - but the intended recipient *IS* the
mailing list so thats all right then isn't it? It sure beats pratting
about with a gmail account to protect just a few peoples sensibilities...

Yeah, but it _is_ pretty strange to post confidential information on a
public mailing list, isn't it? What happens if you really _did_ post
something you didn't mean to -- will the disclaimer actually mean a
damn thing as long as it's being attached to _all_ emails no matter
whether they're confidential or not?

Anyway, I didn't really mean to critizise anyone here. Although I
think such disclaimers are just plain stupid, complaining about it on
u-boot-users certainly isn't going to change anything. And the next
thing that happens is probably that my own IT department does the same
thing...

Btw, I use a gmail account mostly for convenience -- I was having some
problems with my VPN setup some time ago, so I subscribed to
u-boot-users and linux-kernel with my gmail account to ensure that I
could reply to u-boot and Linux mail from home. I try to send
important stuff like patches and pull requests from my Atmel address,
but that might change if they decide to put stupid disclaimers on all
my e-mails...I can't seriously submit patches that are "confidential"
for inclusion in a GPL'd project, can I?

Well, the message I sent was indeed highly confidential and not to be read by anyone.

;->

I didn't even know that this diclaimer was attached to my mail. When reading that mail in my out-folder, I don't see it. It's therefore attached somwhere between my machine and the mail gateway (or there). It's not been attached to a message to myself.

Good to have this discussed.

 Oliver.
