7972, 7997 and 8950 are in net tree - pull request coming soon.
8989 was NAK'ed by Andy Fleming, I can't find a patch for 8984, 
although  commit 2d934ea51f276522b532f870a820e844ff480b5b implements the 
origin of this thread.
