Obviously I've missed something... U-boot is working fine with both 256MB and 512MB RAM. The kernel crashes with memory > 256MB. Do I need to set up a 2nd BAT for mapping main memory before booting linux in any case ? Do you now of any kernel related issues/missing configs ? I know this is off-topic to this list - but maybe you can help me out. regards, Andre Wolfgang Denk schrieb: > In message <4818A775.9020009@matrix-vision.de> you wrote: > >> my MPC8343 based system is running fine, but I'm not able to use more >> than 256MB of memory. >> >> Is this a general or known issue ? >> > > You may want to search for CONFIG_VERY_BIG_RAM and > CONFIG_MAX_MEM_MAPPED, see for example "lib_ppc/board.c". > > > Best regards, > > Wolfgang Denk > > MATRIX VISION GmbH, Talstra?e 16, DE-71570 Oppenweiler - Registergericht: Amtsgericht Stuttgart, HRB 271090 Gesch?ftsf?hrer: Gerhard Thullner, Werner Armingeon, Uwe Furtner
