[U-Boot-Users] Unable to boot linux 2.6.25 with U-Boot 1.1.4

Hello everyone.
I have got a modified u-boot source which boots vanilla 2.6.22 kernel,
but is unable to boot vanilla 2.6.25.

The message I get is this :
Uncompressing Linux..........................................................................................
done, booting the kernel.

Nothing shows up after this.
The modified U-Boot version is "U-Boot 1.1.4".

Could somebody help.

Activate in the linux kernel CONFIG_LL_DEBUG ( maybe ?! ) and check
that the u_boot_board_id == linux_board_id

Do you have CONFIG_CLOCKS_IN_MHZ defined?  If so, try turning it off.

1.1.4 is too old to boot such a modern kernel.

No, it's not -- it should be quite capable of booting current kernels using
cuImage.  Passing a device tree is more questionable, if it's even supported
at all.

To clarify, the above applies on powerpc.  It seems the original poster
never specified what sort of hardware was involved.

I am working on OMAP2420 (ARM 11) based apollon board.
The board id in u-boot is ( in file board/apollon.c, board_init() ):
gd->bd->bi_arch_number = 919;

The board id in linux-2.6.22, linux-2.6.25 ( as defined in
arch/arm/tools/mach-types ) :
omap_apollon            MACH_OMAP_APOLLON       OMAP_APOLLON            919

Sorry, missed that..
Don't sure about this particular CPU, but with Atmel's AT91 there was 
some migration to new serial driver interface.
I faced similar problem when booting 2.6.25 kernel, but after studying 
some code - something related to serial was missing in map_io.
