Subject: [U-Boot] Jffs2 spanning across multiple flash parts
Date: Tue, 06 Jan 2009 15:12:36 -0700	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <4963D754.2010502@sun.com> (raw)

I'm stuck in configuring my board for using u-boot.

I have multiple nor flash parts that make up my JFFS2 filesystem, but I
can't seem to configure U-boot to scan all the parts for the filesystem.

It looks like the jffs2 system is looking to a flash partition.
and flash partition fits within a flash part. It doesn't seem like
I can configure a partition to span across multiple parts. Is that
correct?

Is there a way to configure the 'mtdparts' to work with multiple parts or
am I about to embark on writing a new feature?

I can't change how the JFFS2 system is configured on the flash parts. When
the linux system boots up, it all works. I just need a way for u-boot
to scan the entire
flash filesystem to look for the kernel and root filesystem.

thanks
bill
