Hello all,
I often miss some mails from u-boot at lists.denx.de in these days,
For example, we didn't receive the 8569 support patch from lists,
and didn't receive the mail from Kim
http://lists.denx.de/pipermail/u-boot/2009-March/049890.html
http://lists.denx.de/pipermail/u-boot/2009-March/049891.html
What is the matter? does my mail system have some problem?
Thanks, Dave

It seems they have been sent by the server.

I agree with Liu Dave. I sent a patch two times about a new tools
command called imls, but I didn't receive back the patch (neither the
first nor the second time) as list subscriber so I'm not sure that the
patch has been received. Wolfgang, can you confirm to me that the patch
has been received? I'd like to receive feedbacks about the usefulness of
this command.
Regards,
Marco

Why didn't you simply look it up in the mailing list archive, then?
Also note that on gmane you can look up messages easily based on the
message ID. For example, your postings have message ID's
49CE6BB7.9020806 at gmail.com and 49D0FE94.7030505 at gmail.com ; just
append these IDs to http://mid.gmane.org/ and hit enter:
http://mid.gmane.org/49CE6BB7.9020806 at gmail.com
and
http://mid.gmane.org/49D0FE94.7030505 at gmail.com
can both be found, which is a reliable proof that these messages did
hit the mailing list.
Best regards,
Viele Gr??e,
Wolfgang Denk

Thank you very much for information Wolfgang. However I don't understand
why I didn't receive my post on the mailing list, I'm afraid that even
other people didn't receive it and then I don't receive any comments. I
checked the option "Receive your own posts to the list" on my setting
and it sets to "yes".

Mmmm....and I receive your post just now...maybe a problem with the list
that doesn't send the post to the author, the most important thing is
however that everybody can read it.

ive received both of the imls util e-mails in question. as for the list not
sending to the author, i receive my own posts all the time. maybe you changed
something in your personal mailman settings.

...or your corporate mail scanner is classifying it as spam and throwing
it away for you. I get a few u-boot list emails stuck in my "Junk
E-mail" box every month.
I see Marco is on gmail: I've found gmail (via imap) does *not* show you
the email you sent when it comes back via the list. When I looked into
this, I found that gmail's threading display shows what I sent as
expected. My imap client (tbird FWIIW) does *not* show the email I sent
nor the response back from the list. From this behavior, I would
speculate that google's method of mail handling and thread tagging
recognizes the return message as the "same" as the original sent message
and doesn't tell my tbird client that it has a new message (it arguably
isn't new).
FWIIW, I have not found any solution to the gmail/imap mail suppression.
Best regards,
gvb
