I use the ELDK toolchain and it says: GNU ld (GNU Binutils) 2.17.90.20070806 Supported emulations: armelf_linux_eabi armelfb_linux_eabi Maybe you need to look up your build documentation on how to add these emulations, at least armelf_linux_eabi (the armelfb should be useless for u-boot).
