Here is how files are generated.
[u-boot]$ make -j8 V=1 | grep u-boot\.dtb
  cp dts/dt.dtb u-boot.dtb
  cat u-boot.bin dts/dt.dtb > u-boot-dtb.bin

u-boot.dtb is just dtb file.

[u-boot]$ ls -la u-boot*
