Subject: [U-Boot-Users] how to change u-boot to work with new flash on freescale mpc83233 rdb platform
Date: Wed, 4 Jun 2008 05:12:14 -0700 (PDT)	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <861351.77324.qm@web31404.mail.mud.yahoo.com> (raw)

Hi all,

I am currently working with the freescale mpc8323e rdb and need to change from flash JS28F128J3D to JS28F256P33 (with part number JS28F256P33T95). Does anyone know what changes I need to do on the u-boot source to get this new flash working on my platform?
I saw, in the file /include/flash.h from u-boot source theres is a line telling:

#define INTEL_ID_28F128P30T 0x88188818    /* 128M =  64K x 255 + 32k x 4 */

How could the u-boot configure the new flashes? May I tell it manually that I am using a new flash? If so, how I do that?

Thanks in advance and best regards

Guild
