Hi, I am new to U-Boot, how to get started??

please somebody help me ...

And my  aim is  to port U-boot to omap2430 SDP with pop memory processor
board.
Anybody worked on porting of  U-boot to  omap2430sdp?? please send me in
details  where to start??
And
1) what the lowest version of tool chain (arm cross compiler) i must use  to
cross-compile u-boot


i want to know what will be the diffrences in porting U-boot to a processor
without pop memory and with pop memory


please help me
