Hi!
I’m usingen Debian/Testing with xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64. Kernel for Dom0
is 2.6.34 with xen-patches-2.6.34-1.tar.bz2, kernel for DomU is the
standard 2.6.34.
With all udev version since 153-2, I can’t start my DomU. The following
oops is happening:

Going back to 153-2 resolves the problem. Is this a bug in udev or in

Yeah, this is a known issue, and many people have seen it with new udev versions.

I applied a fix from James Harper which he said fixed the problem for
him. However, Bastian said it was insufficient and posted an
alternative, but Jan had some comments on it. I held off doing anything
more until they came to a resolution (since James' initial patch seemed
to be good enough as a placeholder). But there was no further
discussion so it all stalled.
Jan, do you have a patch which implements your suggestions?

Not for the pv-ops tree - in our tree, the fix logically belongs into the
2.6.22 up-merge of the Xen patches, but that wouldn't even come
close to applying to the pv-ops (or other newer) trees, due to other
subsequent infrastructure changes. I could try to put something
together, but that would be untested...
