Hi,

You are only looking at dom0 here.
dom0 is a 32 bit centos that is taking ~750mb of your 24GB ram.
what's left of the 24GB is available for your VMs.

you can run "/opt/xensource/debug/xenops physinfo" if you want to see
how much ram has been detected.

You're looking at Xen dom0 kernel version.
XCP uses 32bit dom0 kernel on 64bit Xen hypervisor.

This is the memory your dom0 _guest_ has allocated to it.
The rest of the memory is available (free) in the Xen hypervisor.

Hello,

First, thank you for your fast answear.

There is no 64 bits version of XCP dom0?

Thanks

There's no particular benefit of having a 64b dom0 -- it's supposed to be a small VM used mostly for control plane functionality, and doesn't need to map much memory. 32b dom0 has been shown to be a bit faster and less memory hungry than 64b. I guess XCP might switch to 64b at some point, but there aren't any strong reasons for it at the moment.

Thank you Vincent, Pasi and Ian for your answears and hoping that can
you help me a little more with your advice :-)

Let me explain more precisely my problem.
We just installed a new cluster (32 servers with Nehalem CPU and 24 GB).
To automate the deployment of XCP on multiple machines, we want to
create an image of the installed software of XCP.
P.S. we use Bright Computing as a cluster manager
http://www.brightcomputing.com/

Now we installed XCP in a physical machine and want to grab all the
softwares (the hypervisor and the dom0) on an image that can be deployed
automatically on the whole cluster using Bright Computing Cluster Manager.

Any idea or advice ?

Thank you

Best Regards,
Houssem Medhioub

cloning XCP installation is not different than cloning a normal linux
installation. everything is available as a hard disk through
/dev/(s|h)da or directly as a linux path /, but the you need to
customize everything after you cloned it to the other machine.

Just thinking on XCP specific things, you probably need to delete the
cloned database, and have the first scripts rerun on the cloned machine
(have a look at /etc/firstboot.d). But this is not trivial, and you have
to ready to commit some time and effort to do that.
