* [XenGT][IGVT-g] DomU pgt_device structure initialization

We are going to use XenGT on Intel Atom based board(VTC-1010, with 4GB RAM).
For this purpose we use next repos:
xen - https://github.com/01org/XenGT-Preview-xen/tree/byt-experiment
<https://github.com/01org/Igvtg-xen>
dom0 (ubuntu linux, 1024MB or 2048MB ) -
https://github.com/01org/XenGT-Preview-kernel/tree/byt-experiment
<https://github.com/01org/Igvtg-kernel>
domU (ubuntu-14.04, rest memory excluding xen heap, xen, about 1.7GB RAM )
- same kernel

Guest domain are going to be started in HVM mode.
We follow XenGT setup guide (
https://github.com/01org/XenGT-Preview-kernel/blob/byt-experiment/XenGT_Setup_Guide.pdf)
and successfully setup dom0 with XenGT.

But, when we are going to start domU (with enabled vgt=1 switch) vgt is not
working (UI is freezed or very lagged).

The main problem maybe (as i think) is going from here:

If look at code on that place seems that pdev->gen_dev_type is uncorrect
(XEN_IGV_INVALID=0), but it need to be valleyview, so pdev structure is not
inited.
For case of Dom0 it is done by flow: xen_star_vgtt() -> vgt_initialize() ->
vgt_initialize_pgt_device() -> vgt_set_device_type(), but for case of DomU
it is stopped in xen_start_vgt because of check " if (!xen_initial_domain()
".

How is structure pgt_device inited in case of DomU? Or maybe there is
another reason way why UI is freezed/lagged?

It wasn't in this e-mail but I went through the console logs which
were in one of your postings on the IGVT-g list.  I believe you have
your hypervisor configured for synchronous serial console output
(sync_console command-line parameter) and you are directing your dom0
kernel console logging through the Xen provided serial interface.

Setting this option is documented to cause significant latencies.  In
fact there is a warning about this in the Xen console logs when the
hypervisor boots.  Here is the code snippet from
 xen/drivers/char/console.c:console_endboot() which produces the
message:

It appears as if you were generating significant amounts of kernel log
output which may be at the root of the unacceptable latencies.  I
would start by turning off that option and see if your guest
performance improves.
