Hello all,
First of all I want to say sorry if I have sent this to the
wrong people.

I have created a front end for iptables using jdk1.4.2, for
my MSc final year project. I have spent three months developing the
software, and it is a shame that it will go to waste. I want to be able
to give it to the community and maybe someone will be interested in
continuing development along side my self. I want to copyright it under
the GPL, but since I have no clue as to how to go about it maybe some
one can advise me on this.
The reason for this e-mail is more a favour than anything
else, I was wondering if any of you could take a look at it and give me
a quote or some comment on the program so I can add it to my
dissertation document.
There is no manual of the features the program provides, but
once you run it is quite self explanatory and not very difficult to use.
It has support for most of the iptables commands.
The program allows the user to create complicated rule sets
and chains using drag and drop and point and click. It contains a "Test
View" where you can graphically see the packet transversal through a
chain, which I believe is the neatest feature. The files are saved in
xml format, and the shell script can be created using the export
function in the file menu. There are a lot of little features, that make
this an interesting project, but then again wouldn't any developer say
that about his software:-).
Any ways if you guys could help out please direct yourselves
to http://www.existanze.com/IPTablesGui.html and download the file and
give it a go. My deadline is on the 24th of September so if I could hear
from you before then I will be forever grateful.

If any one is interested in continuing development please do get in
touch with me.

As a final note I would like to say thanks for taking the
time to read this e-mail, and that I always wanted to introduce my self
into the community in some way, to help out, and I see this as the
perfect opportunity.

Best Regards,
Fotis Paraskevopoulos
