I have been trying to install Linux on an Evesham Voyager 2700 Notebook with
a 15 inch TFT/LCD display
and Trident TGUI9660 bios video.
I have tried both SuSE Linux 8.0, and Debian 3.9 (Woody).
They both install and even work OK from a CLI, but I have KDE problems.
The background colour of the pop-up panels is BLACK, and black print
doesn't show up
very well !
How can I configure the nitty-gritty details of the GUI ?
I have no problems on my other Linux machines (which use CRT Monitors).
Best regards.
Geoff.

I don't have direct exporience of that hardware, but just to check it,
have you tried connecting the laptop to a CRT? If it looks OK there,
then you might have a problem with the LCD not displaying enough
colours. If it's broken on there, you might have the graphics card
configured wrong.
erm - try the XConfigurator or XF86Setup to interactively mod the X
settings.

In Suse 8.0 you can run SaX2 to configure XFree86 version 4 or SaX to
configure version 3. An excellent gui config tool.
