Hallo list,

I don't actually know whether this is iptables related, but can someone
recommend a good place to start to configure a traffic shaper?

Traffic shaping works with iptables, but actually uses tc

I have made extensive use of HTB and it has performed admirably,
IMHO it is as good as anything I have used from Xedia and Packateer.
