Examples of fair comparisons would be:

Software rendered OpenGL vs. software rendered Render extension
Hardware-accelerated OpenGL vs. hardware-accelerated Render extension
...

All I'm saying is that it reflects badly on you if you need to resort to
skewed numbers.
