Yes we did get it.  You did not get a response because "it doesn't work"
does not constitute a useful bug report.

See the alsa-devel archives for examples of the kind of information you
need to put in a bug report to get a reply.

i am using a compaq r3000 laptop with ati technologies
inc soundmax integrated digital media soundcard.

I need you to bottom line this for me:

Can I use this hardware with linux?

I'm running alsa on this laptop now and no luck, and
NO the sound isn't muted..

what do i need to do to get my sound card working?
