If I run hcidump utility, all normal keys generate some data dumps,
BUT the multimedia keys produce nothing!!

How could this be? With Same keyboard, same computer, multimedia keys work
great in WinXP.

I read somewhere in regards to a USB game controller, that depending on how
the device is initialized, it will report a DIFFERENT number of buttons.

Any thoughts???

try a 2.6.12-mh1 kernel and check again.

Hi Michal,

the key may not work, but you will at least see them with hcidump.

that is weird. Does hidd shows this device in boot-protocol mode?

Hello Marcel

I checked last night and hidd --show reports the keyboard is a "boot device"
and "boot protocol activated" (I'm typing from memory)

However, I have not tried the 2.6.11.12-rh2 kernel that you suggested.
I am running 2.6.11.6 currently.

If I have time I'll try 2.6.12.1 tonight

What puzzles me is that apparently some people running older kernels such as
2.6.5 have these keys working for them...

regards
