Why does this list get so much spam? Does it accept email from
non-subscribers?

If it does, it bloody well shouldn't!

Yes, it has to so people on the kernel list can cc: this list without
having to be subscribed. And it actually gets very little spam, like a
handful of messages a day.

Finally, every list message has headers like this:

X-Spam-Score: 1.0 (+)
X-Spam-Report: Spam Filtering performed by sourceforge.net. See
http://spamassassin.org/tag/ for more details. Report problems to
http://sf.net/tracker/?func=add&group_id=1&atid=200001 1.0
FORGED_RCVD_HELO Received: contains a forged HELO 0.0
SF_CHICKENPOX_MINUS BODY: Text interparsed with - 0.0
SF_CHICKENPOX_APOSTROPHE BODY: Text interparsed with ' -0.0 AWL
AWL: From: address is in the auto white-list

But isn't it possible to add this list as a second set of possible
senders?
I'm not really familiar with the management of mailing-lists...

Jan, new to the list

Yes, the messages have spam headers, EXCEPT when received in digest form. Then
again, we had this discussion a long time ago, and determined that the spam
wasn't that bad. Of course, it could be improved, but that is a subject
that I'll leave to others to duke it out.
(*SIGH*)

Well, you have to admit the spam problem has improved a lot since we
first opened the list.

And, you're still welcome to complain to Sourceforge.
