vibi,
this project already exists :-)

Getting the AT91 u-boot bootloader
---------------------------------------
To get the u-boot bootloader up and running on an AT91 product you have
to go through the following steps:

   1. identify on which u-boot revision the patches will apply
   2. download the corresponding u-boot

      # wget ftp://ftp.denx.de/pub/u-boot/u-boot-x.x.x.tar.bz2
      # tar xvjf u-boot-x.x.x.tar.bz2
      # cd cd u-boot-x.x.x

   3. take the AT91 u-boot patch set and apply it on top of the original
u-boot:

      # wget
http://www.at91.com/repFichier/Project-218/u-boot-x.x.x_atmel_y.y.diff.bz2
      # bzcat u-boot-x.x.x_atmel_y.y.diff.bz2 | patch -p1

You will now have a fresh copy of the AT91 u-boot.

I'm happily using 1.2.0 on the 9260. Atmel offers both 1.1.5 and 1.2.0,
so I chose the latter; I had problems on the 9263 but it runs fine
on 9260 (timer management is broken in both versions, though).

The sources are at ftp://at91dist:distrib at 81.80.104.162/AT91_Third_Party_Design_Flow/Linux_Host/Source/u-boot-1.2.0-atmel.tar.bz2

BTW: anyone knows why 926x code isn't merged and whether there are plans
in that direction?

hi,
i have tried that patch.but when i compile the source for at91sam9260ek
i am getting error that u-boot uses soft floating point where as
libgcc.a in my cross-compiler tool chain uses hard floating point .
but i compiled a working u-boot for at91rm9200dk using this tool chain,
and here also -msoft-float option was given.

has any one faced this kind of problem before?

thanks & regards

Hello vibi,

I have similar problems on the AT91SAM9261-ek, and I use a hack
(attached) to be able to compile the code. It is not nice, but it
worked for me until I (or someone else) have time to figure it out
more deeply.

Maybe you have the same problem?

Kind Regards,

Remy

hello Remy,
	thanks for your support.
the error i got is this

arm-linux-ld:
ERROR: /usr/local/arm/4.1/bin-ccache/../lib/gcc/arm-linux-uclibc/3.4.6/libgcc.a(_udivdi3.oS) uses hardware FP, whereas u-boot uses software FP
arm-linux-ld: failed to merge target specific data of
file /usr/local/arm/4.1/bin-ccache/../lib/gcc/arm-linux-uclibc/3.4.6/libgcc.a(_udivdi3.oS)
arm-linux-ld:
ERROR: /usr/local/arm/4.1/bin-ccache/../lib/gcc/arm-linux-uclibc/3.4.6/libgcc.a(_clz.oS) uses hardware FP, whereas u-boot uses software FP
arm-linux-ld: failed to merge target specific data of
file /usr/local/arm/4.1/bin-ccache/../lib/gcc/arm-linux-uclibc/3.4.6/libgcc.a(_clz.oS)

and i solved this by commenting the "-msoft-float " option for compiler
in cpu/arm926ejs/config.mk & cpu/arm926ejs/at91sam926x/config.mk

but what makes me think is that same flag was given for at91rm9200
and it worked.

thanks & regards
