Hello
I am interested to know which kind of feature range the ofono platform
is intended to have once. Specially are there plans to provide a
framework of ready-to-use gadgets, i.e. for user interfaces, graphics,
application components ?
Regards, Robert

I am not sure what you mean. We certainly intend to provide some context
informations relevant to the modem, such as operator network name, radio
technology, signal strength... that you can use to fill in UI gadgets.

But Ofono is fundamentally a set of DBus APIs. It is not intended to
include actual "UI" code in my understanding.

Ahh, the blogosphere. That infinite source of reliable and accurate
technical information. No, oFono is not a competitor to Android. It's just
not a fair comparison. Then again, oFono isn't completely dissimilar to
Andoird's Radio Interface Layer (RIL). But hey, where's the fun in
comparing apples with apples?

Cheers,
Aki
