No.  compat-wireless requires 2.6.27 and compat-wireless-old requires
2.6.22, as stated at http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Download

You may have better chances with MadWifi trunk, which supports some of
the devices supported by ath9k and requires Linux 2.4.22.  You only need
to backport it two versions back.  I believe the problem with kernels
prior to 2.4.22 was lack of crypto support.
