I'm a little worried of relying on things returning to userspace.

One could imagine something like a router appliance where userspace is
essentially asleep forever and everything happens in the kernel
(networking via softirq, maybe NFS kernel server, ...)

I'm a little worried of relying on things returning to userspace.

One could imagine something like a router appliance where userspace is
