Thanks to everyone who ran the bootstrap test and responded!
The bootstrap worked on 5 of 6 systems tested:
1) 715/75 *
2) 777 (C110)
3) 816/E35 *
4) 712/60 *
5) 780 (C160)
* For some reason, these systems returned CPUID was 00000000 (which I believe
to be invalid). Maybe on these
the cpuid must be obtained in a different way than the PDC routine I used.
The one failure was on an A180. I don't know anything about this system,
so I'm not sure what's happening. Anyone know what the CPU is on the
A180 or any other info?
These people booted successfully from disk, tape, and even rbootd!
Jason.

I was successful using your bootstrap routine on a 720/50 using rbootd
(I believe a PA 7000 CPU). However it also returned a CPUID of 00000000.
Cool stuff.

I tried the bootstrap test on a box last night and got a CPU ID
of 00000224 This was done by using the dd to disk method.
This was on a new unreleased C-series box
When you say this test worked on 5 out of 6 boxes, what exactly
happened on the 6th (the A-series system)?

It hung on the tape -- never showed anything. I never did try
it from disk, though. I'll try it later.

A A180 is basically an a B180 in a rack mount chassis It should be a
PA7300 processor.

It is a PA8500 processor.
