Hello,
I don't have any idea how far I'll get with this, but I've decided to at least try real hard to get SE Linux to work on SuSE.
It seems that there's a few SuSE-users around (besides myself) who want to use SE Linux, so I've start a mailing list and web site hoping that maybe we can work together.
Web site (nothing fancy): http://se-linux-suse.cedarcreeksoftware.com/
Mailing list: I don't have any listserve installed currently, so for now, if you want to "join" the mailing list just send me a message telling me what address you want subscribed, and I'll add you to the list.
My idea is to post patches and RPMs to the web site as I (and others) manage to build them.
If anyone already has anything (SuSE-specific) they want put up on the site, please send the files directly to me via email.
If enough interest is shown, I expect to be able to get more "normal" file sharing/mailing list features, maybe CVS.
I think this is good enough for now, until there's proven interest.
If anyone is aware of any legal issues with this, please notify me ASAP.
Since the project's only purpose is to collaborate with fellow SuSE users on SE-Linux, I think I should be fine, but I'd rather be safe then sorry.
If possible, I would apprecite hearing from one of the NSA people that this is at least un-officially 'permissable' (I have no expectations of receiving official acknowledgment of any kind).
Thanks... hopefully we'll get somewhere with this.

Why do you need a mailing list? Why not just use this one? It works for
me...

That's the easy part, policy files is the hard part.

The NSA guys are actually a lot friendlier than you may expect. ;)

which means we need more of them. more examples, more working policies
for programs of various kinds.
right now, I believe the number of people actually using SELinux is
pretty small. but once it's increased a little (say, by 500%, to
something like 10 people :) ) we should gather some and include the
best ones as examples.

Yes, I think we need some policy files to hold up as examples for people who
want to create new policy by cut/paste. However I think that the main thing
we need now is support for more daemons. Once we have policy files for all
the most common daemons (including all the ones that are installed by default
in all popular distributions) then it'll be a lot easier to get it working on
a given system.
