I think Chris does something in that direction based on what I have read in my
inbox ;)

It is hard to tell if I will work in this direction soon,
it will only be clear when Hans will wake up and he may well direct me to work
with reiser4 again for some time.

Didn't you - Oleg - say you would do the merge with Chris ?!
O.k. I would do a trial for my own. I assume you would have done do your
one... (Hans siting at your side ;-) But my English is bad in
communication related things...

manager Oleg Drokin to work on the data-logging patches with Chris Mason
furthermore!
I was able to prove the data-logging patchset is really better than
stock-kernel-2.4.19 for generic copy actionss (via "cp" on used
partition patterns). That made you think over to include data-logging
into the main 3.6 kernel patches for 2.4.20-pre, previously. Please, see
my recent eMails related to this this topic,
So, please, could you encourage Oleg Drokin to work with Chris Mason for
the progress of 'data-logging' within ReiserFS-3.6?!

Well, I had hoped that Chris would do the merge, but if we can't get
Chris to do the merge (it may be that he is extremely busy right now)
then I guess Oleg will do it. I agree that the patches are needed urgently.

The merge was pending resolution of a data=ordered + direct io bug I
found last week. I had been trying to find a clever resolution, but
they are all too expensive in either CPU time or memory given that
almost nobody wants direct io and data=ordered at the same time.
So, I'm back to working on the merge with direct io disabled when
data=ordered is on. The port to 2.5 won't have this problem.
