Hi,
on my system (Gigabyte GA-7VTXH, VIA KT266A Chipset, Athlon XP 1600+)
the C2 processor powerstate have not been enabled until I set the
ACPI_PROCESSOR_MAX_C2_LATENCY to a value above 100. The system runs
quite normal after this change and consumes much less power than before.
Also the processor temperature goes down from 48°C to under 35°C when
idle.
So why is the MAX_C2_LATENCY set to this value? Is it possible to
optimize the use of this high latency C2 to only use it when the system
is _really_ idle?
