I'm planning to use LVM on my new linux system, I'm just wondering can I use
internal and external drives together as one?

If the external drive fails, what will happen?

Thanks,

Jay

  You sure can.

All LVs (Logical Volumes) with extents on the failed drive will be
unavailable.

For most cases, that means that all data on both disks will be lost.

Hi,

My linux box is Debian3.0 with kernel 2.4.20 with latest patch and cvs LVM.
LVM works OK but every command like pvdisplay or lvdisplay is proceeded with
text:
    invalidate: busy buffer
    invalidate: busy buffer
    invalidate: busy buffer
    invalidate: busy buffer
    invalidate: busy buffer
    invalidate: busy buffer
    invalidate: busy buffer
    invalidate: busy buffer
LV VG ....
zasoby_lvm hermes_lvm ...

What is wrong???

Thanks,Marcin

Nothing is wrong, it's just an annoying kernel message.
