Hello!
Please add code for NS LM83 chip to your project.
I need it.
Thanks!!!

Which motherboard or device do you have that makes use of a LM83?
According to National, "the LM83 is pin for pin and register-compatible
with the LM84 and Maxim's MAX1617 and the Analog Devices ADM1021", for
wich we already have support. So adding support for the LM83 should be
rather easy.

What makes you think there is a LM83 on it? From the specs, I would say
that the sensors chipset is an ITE8705F, supported by our it87 driver.

In Windows XP SisoftSandra 2003 report NS LM83 and ITE 8705F chips
onboard present.

Do both report interesting values?
So you already have lm_sensors working for the ITE 8705F on your system?

Hello Jean,
lm_sensors work with ITE 8705 chip, but sensors value incorect (CPU
temp. is very high, voltages not corespond value shown in BIOS, etc.)

This may simply be a configuration issue (especially for the
temperaturs, did you tried the temp_type module parameter?)
Are you using i2c & lm_sensors 2.7.0 or CVS?
As is, the sensors-detect script should have detected your LM83 as a
LM84 and asked you to load the adm1021 module. Did it actually happen?

1. What parameters exist? What they should accept values?
2. I use i2c and lm_sensors 2.7.0
3. sensors-detect offers to load adm1021

Thanks for the shot. Unfortunately, it doesn't say on which chipset each
sensor is located :/
I've added preliminary LM83 detection to our sensors-detect script.
Could you please get it from
http://www2.lm-sensors.nu/~lm78/cvs/lm_sensors2/prog/detect/sensors-detect
and give it a try? Preferably unload all sensors modules before doing so
and send us a whole log of the script run (using script or whatever).

See the complete doc here:
http://www2.lm-sensors.nu/~lm78/cvs/lm_sensors2/doc/chips/it87
(or in your local doc/chips directory)
> 2. I use i2c and lm_sensors 2.7.0
Would you mind switching to CVS to test the new driver once I'll written
it? I have no LM83 so I won't be able to test it myself, and I'll need
you to do so ;)
> 3. sensors-detect offers to load adm1021
Interesting. You should try loading it. Since the LM84 is a "light"
version of the LM83, your LM83 should really behave like a LM84 with the
adm1021 driver, and you should get 2 temperatures reported (instead of
the 4 supported by the LM83).

Many thanks for the help. I necessarily shall try new sensors-detect,
but only tomorrow, as at us evening.
Tomorrow I send you log.
