Hi,guys,

I am curious to know what kind of DAC chip RME HDSP 96xx
uses? Is it AD1855 or AD1852, or something else?

Your response will be highly appreciated,

jing

the hdsp 9652 has has no analog i/o. there are no DAC or ADC chips.

the hdsp PCI/PCMCIA has analog i/o care of the i/o box, but what they
use in there, i don't know. i'm not unscrewing the box to find
out. maybe someone else knows or is willing to unscrew theirs.

Jing,
The HDSP 9652 doesn't have any DAC or ADC chips. It's purely digital in
and digital out. (3 ADAT and 1 spdif) You have to use external A/D & D/A
converters.

Possibly you're thinking about the HDSP adapter card tied in with the
MultiFace breakout box? That would be the only HDSP product that I know of
that has analog on it, but I haven't looked at RME's site for quite a while
so there could be new stuff too.

Cheers,
Mark

the digiface has a stereo analog output (the phone jack on the front).
RME also make a/d converters too, as well as daughter boards for the
old hammerfall series.

Ah! In that case Jing may be interested in the DigiFace too.

Thanks for the clarification on the RME stuff. My two RME cards are just
totally digital the way I configured and use them, so I'm a bit locked into
that.

Do we know what A/D or D/A they used in the MultiFace?

Cheers,
Mark

Onr can't easily group the HDSP 96xx cards any longer. The HDSP 9632, for
example, does 2 channels of analog I/O up to 192kHz sample rate. Sorry, I
don't know what DAC they're using but I'm sure a post to the RME newsgroup
would gather the correct information.
