I installed the sensorsd package on my debian box with an intel 865
motherboard.

it says:

Oh, so you meant "not supported by a 13 month-old version of our
software". That's different.

It's supported since June 2003, so releases 2.8.0 and later support it.

I'm sorry:) I was too lasy/and tired and can't find your webpage..
after I'd sent the mail I found it, a realized, that it's already in the
newest versions...
debian has only a "13 months old"
