Anyone screaming loudly if we remove them?

 - AMD53C974 is broken and doesn't even compile, all supported hardware is
handled by the mainted tmscsim driver.
 - mac_NCR5380 isn't even referenced in the build and hasn't been at
   least since 2.4

I always had problems with the AMD53C974 driver even back in 2.2.x days.
On several old HP XU/90 and XU/120 Vectras I had to specify the
TMSCSIM driver to get SCSI to work.....

Hehe, AMD makes/made more chips then just CPUs. This is a scsi
controller, but I haven't seen people using it on non-x86 machines yet,
but it's just a simple PCI card or sometimes even an onboard chip IIRC.

Question answered?

Removing the AM53C974 driver sounds like a good idea, but be aware that the
tmscsim driver included on the RedHat driver disks (for people who have to
boot by floppy) causes a panic on boot ever since 7.3 on XU 5/90 machines.
The AM53C974 driver is very minimalistic, but seems to work. Once the system
is installed, the AM53C974 driver isn't stable long-term and I have to use
tmscsim.

So before deleting the driver, keep in mind that without it, there would be
no way to install RedHat's distros on the older Vectra's. Of course the
tmscsim driver included on the RedHat driver disk could be broken...
