The balance being in favor of a separate list for i2c by 3 to 0, let's
do that. This raises the question of what w1 will become. If i2c has a
seperate list, keeping w1 in the lm-sensors list would be confusing.
Evgeniy, I think you should have a separate list for w1, like we plan
to do for i2c. We can host the list for you on lm-sensors.org's mailman
if you want, or if you prefer you can move to a different place. Your
call, just let us know.

Just drop w1 from lm_sensors.
Currently w1 users directly send me patches and questions, so mail list
is not needed, but if there will be strong requirement for that I will
either create one myself, or will contact you.
Thank you.

OK, fine with me. If so, can you please submit a patch for the kernel
removing the reference to this list for W1 in MAINTAINERS?
Thanks,

Sure.
I will send it to Greg Kroah-Hartman tomorrow with link to this thread.

This is done, we have a new list. People interested in i2c development
(core, bus drivers, chip drivers) are invited to subscribe:
http://lists.lm-sensors.org/mailman/listinfo/i2c
Then I will update the references in the Linux kernel trees, in our
subversion source repositories, and on our website. After that, all
discussions related to i2c should be directed to this new list instead
of the lm-sensors list.
Thanks,
