Hi all,
I just committed a huge simplification of the detection routines for
the SiS5595, VIA686 and VT8231 chips to sensors-detect. I would
appreciate if users with these chips could give a try to the latest
version of sensors-detect and confirm that their chip is still properly
detected:

Thanks,

Apologies for my late reply on this.
I will be checking these patches next week - the VT8231 platform that I have
is currently in a live system and cannot be played with. It should be
coming off-line next week (permanently) and I can then use it to test the
detection changes.
Best regards,
Roger

Hi Roger,

No worries :)

OK, great. This is good because I also would like the vt8231 driver to
be converted to a platform (or pci?) driver in a near future. It would
be nice if you could help with testing, or even convert the driver
yourself if you have time for this.
Old server being replaced by brand new shiny hardware?
Thanks,

No problem.

Yep. A set of older low-power servers are in the process ob being replaced
by equivalent virtual server in a shiny new Xen machine. Faster, cheaper,
lower power and MUCH easier to manage...
