I used to remember open bugs just because I worked on them so frequently.
However, that work was too time-consuming, and I'm know trying to use my time
more efficiently.

One of the things which are probably useful is kernel.org bugzilla. Jeff, what
do you think of this? Could we start _suggesting_ users to do that and using
that as a policy?
It's also useful since users doing report don't often follow up to allow
to "close" the bug.

I'm asking even because I'm not sure whether you, Jeff, feel Bugzilla nice or
awkward to use.

Another idea would be to use the Wiki. A wiki clearly isn't as good of
a bugtracking system as Bugzilla, but it keeps a lid on the number of
UML sites on the net, which I think is a good thing.

Taking the idea further, maybe migrating the wiki (I know, it wasn't
that long ago) to Trac, which might be a better bugtracker+wiki
system. (There's even a git plugin on trac-hacks, though I don't know
how well it works)

Yup, we can try that and see how it goes.

There is a UML category on the kernel.org bugzilla, so I don't think
we need to do anything on that end.
