Hi,
I'm not sure if this has been asked here before.
Performance of UML improves a lot when used with SKAS. But SKAS is not in the
standard kernels shipped by most distributions. Probably because it isn't
included upstream.
Is there a possibility of turning the patch to be used as a kernel module ?
If yes, I guess distributors will be able to ship it separately. And users
will be able to use it with their standard kernels shipped by the
distributors.
Please CC me. I'm not subscribed to the list.

Probably, although it is in SuSE kernels.

It has been done, a long time ago. I think the major problem is that
there are interfaces that the skas module would need to call that
aren't exported to modules.
This being the case, there would need to be a patch to the kernel to
export those interfaces as well as the actual module.
