Hotel for FOSDEM

Dear all,

for those OE guys who are sure to attend FOSDEM (22-24 February 2008,
Brussels, Belgium) and have not booked a room yet:

Let's try to reserve rooms in the same hotel, so that we
- can share breakfast
- have at least one person who knows the way back to the hotel in the
evening, after too much beer.

Joint efforts are always hard to arrange, so

- please understand the target deadline for this effort is Friday January 11th.
- please quote your maximum price for the hotel per night, with
breakfast included.

By Friday, we should have a list of commitments, and chosen a hotel,
and book the rooms (either in one-go, or individually).
(An alternative approach is to perform a parallel bidding of the same
hotel room rate at priceline.com, which has a 24 hour bidding
retention -- thanks Laibsch)

So far committed are:

Excellent. Thanks for launching that, obviously my attempt to do that
on http://openembedded.org/wiki/Fosdem2008 did not work. Let's try
your way :)

I'm also in, as is Jan Lübbe. We've already made a reservation at the
Astrid, but that can be cancelled if we end up in a different hotel.

The resulting OE Hotel is Astrid (Centre).

Philip 'Crofton' booked for himself. I booked and pre-payed for
'mickeyl' and 'zecke' and myself.

We booked using "expedia.com" for a somewhat cheaper price.

Last year the astrid was full and managed to get some cheap hotel quite 
easily. 


(Except for the fact my card was not working )

Remember that if you will take Astrid (like most of us did year ago) that 
rooms on street side are much louder due to discoteque on second side of 
street. If you will be unlucky (like few of us was) then expect waking up 
about 3:00am.

And to complete - I will not be at FOSDEM this year.
