*-network UNCLAIMED
description: Ethernet controller
product: AR242x 802.11abg Wireless PCI Express Adapter
vendor: Atheros Communications Inc.
physical id: 0
bus info: pci at 0000:03:00.0
version: 01
width: 64 bits
clock: 33MHz
capabilities: bus_master cap_list
configuration: latency=0
This is the output of lshw.
I installed all updates of Jaunty, all codecs too (including Medibuntu).
Installed cheese, tried with Hardware Drivers, tried ndiswrapper, no luck.
Still no wireless.
The bundled driver is ath5k, there is a newer driver, ath9k.
Please explain how to install.
I am on an Acer Aspire One, some models ship with Linux pre-installed, so there must be a way to make it work.
Wireless works fine under Windows, I am on a dual-boot machine.
I see that the width of the card is 64 bits, maybe I should download 64-bit codecs?
Thanks.
Carlos Kosloff

You also might want to checkout:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne
ath5k appears to be the driver you want, not ath9k, nor ndiswrapper (evil).
You really also should be working with Ubuntu support ( forums, report a
bug, etc... ), and not bothering folks on a *devel* list for ath9k.

/tony
