Kernel 2.6.31-rc6 loads fine under the same Xen Hypervisor.

Udevadm patches are both in Xen 3.4.1 (v >= 126)
Just F11 still keeps udevinfo, Ubuntu 9.04 doesn't.
It shouldn't be matter.

But you have a dmesg which implies you did boot the dom0?
So what is hanging? Grub2?

You can buy two DB9-RJ-45 adapters (like this one: http://www.pccables.com/01910.htm)
and use a RJ-45 cable between. This way you can even have a 100m null modem cable between.

Sorry, I cannot do it right now. I need move boxes back, i.e. very close to each other ( 2.5 m). NULL modem cable is very short. I will do it as soon as i can  ( 1-2 days).

Dom0 hasn't booted up. Grub is legacy on 9.04
Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha has Grub2

Earlier Boris was telling that 2.6.31-rc8 dom0 kernel works when he has
dom0_mem=4096M but it fails (tracebacks) when dom0_mem=4097M.

Boris: can you make two logs; one with dom0_mem=4096M and another with
4097M. Don't change anything else between the log captures, only that
dom0_mem parameter.

But you do have the console message which has 'udevadm' on it. That implies
that Dom0 did boot up.

Source box - Ubuntu 9.04 Server installed in location RU,Moscow
Target box -  Fedora 11 installed in location RU,Moscow

I suspect it to be a reason of the issue. When locations were NY,US
i never got such kind of problems.

That might be due to baudrate not being set right. Can you use minicom instead (and obviously
set the right baudrate).

So the serial port settings do not match in the servers..

Change the xen-3.5-gz line in grub.conf to have "com1=9600,8n1", maybe
that's a better default..

Or then don't use "cat /dev/ttyS0", but use "minicom" instead.. and
configure the speed etc there (I think it's O or P to go to configuration).

You need to have same speed/settings on both servers for the serial
console logging to work OK.
