Hello,

I've got a video based on i945GME chipset connected to two LVDS
outputs, one straight and another through SDVO output, and one more
VGA output.

First I tried to install latest Ubuntu 10.10 but it switched off
monitors on LVDS outputs right at the start of installation. Then I
managed to install it using VGA monitor but LVDS output were still not
working (X couldn't detect modelines for them and there're no modes to
switch them on). I tried to install quite fresh but unsupported in
10.10 kernel version 2.6.36. It made the LVDS monitors successfully
detected and one of them even worked fine and all the programs
(xrandr, several GUI display-settings managers and /sys/class/drm
branch files) reported that the second worked fine, too, but there was
no picture on the monitor. I didn't managed to get it work at all.

But I decided also to try Ubuntu 11.04 alpha 1 with 2.6.37rc kernels.
And finally the second monitor started working during installation.
But as soon as it was installed, I didn't managed to start Xserver
anymore as it wanted to set some strange resolutions to outputs. But
in console (with KMS) I still have only one monitor working and second
is turned off.

Could someone please help me with any information on are 2 x LVDS
outputs still unsupported by Linux drivers or KMS (as far as I know,
these outputs are emulated as two separate videodevices so I think
that's the main problem) or there're some additional configuration
which can help me to get them work properly? If it is some kind of
supported, is it really impossible to get it work in Ubuntu 10.10?
>From which kernel version it is supported?

I would greatly appreciate any help and information.

Thank you,
Alexey Chernov
