If you use macports (http://www.macports.org/) you can simply do a 
sudo port install acpica

Thanks for the info, I think I could try to submit more patches to
macports for 20120111 release tomorrow.

BTW, I am a fan of homebrew, will work on it later.

You should be able to grab the source from the git tree, and use the generic unix makefiles under generate/unix.

Need to set __APPLE__ for all compiles.
