We have scheduled March 1st, 2013 (Friday) to perform major
maintainance tasks on the netfilter.org infrastructure. For that
reason, you may notice temporary disruptions on the service.

It's "only" the infrastructure, or will there be any interesting changes
to netfilter.org?
Like more up to date documentation etc. for new developers?

I see that the gitweb interface has now been changed and it relies on
cgit. Since that change was made, I no longer seems able to download
gzipped snapshots of the current tree (iptables master/head and the
like). This is essential for me as I often need to do this when I am in
places where the git protocol isn't available for whatever reason. Could
you restore or enable this functionality please?

Please, use daily snapshots from ftp.netfilter.org.
