Simplify boolean comparisons by removing redundant ' == true',
' != true', and ' == false'. Remove redundant parentheses, add
spaces around bitwise operators, and wrap logical operators to
the previous line in if-statements to improve readability and
follow the kernel coding style.

No functional changes intended.
