Subject: [PATCH] nfsd: widen nfsd_genl_rqstp address fields to
 sockaddr_storage

struct nfsd_genl_rqstp declares rq_daddr and rq_saddr as plain
"struct sockaddr" (16 bytes). When an IPv6 NFS client is connected,
nfsd_genl_rpc_status_compose_msg() casts these fields to
"struct sockaddr_in6 *" (28 bytes) and reads sin6_addr at offset 8..24,
which extends 8 bytes past the end of the 16-byte sockaddr field into
the adjacent rq_flags member. The 16-byte nla_put_in6_addr then ships 8
bytes of truncated IPv6 address followed by 8 bytes of rq_flags to
userspace via the NFSD_A_RPC_STATUS_SADDR6/DADDR6 netlink attributes.

This is reachable by any unprivileged process in the network namespace
because NFSD_CMD_RPC_STATUS_GET uses GENL_CMD_CAP_DUMP without
GENL_ADMIN_PERM.

Fix by widening rq_daddr and rq_saddr to struct sockaddr_storage so the
IPv6 casts operate within bounds, copying sizeof(struct sockaddr_storage)
bytes in the memcpy calls so the full address is captured, and
zero-initializing the genl_rqstp stack variable to prevent leaking
uninitialized tail bytes through netlink.

[ Upstream commit 71bc2c6c413b78e5a47b4a62284f712d9f719007 ]

Clean up: A function parameter called "rqstp" typically refers to an
object of type "struct svc_rqst", so it's confusing when such an
parameter refers to a different struct type with field names that are
very similar to svc_rqst.

To enable NFSD to handle NFSv4 COMPOUNDs of unrestricted size,
resize the array in struct nfsd_genl_rqstp so it saves only up to
16 operations per COMPOUND.

[ Upstream commit 3e7f011c255582d7c914133785bbba1990441713 ]

I've found that pynfs COMP6 now leaves the connection or lease in a
strange state, which causes CLOSE9 to hang indefinitely. I've dug
into it a little, but I haven't been able to root-cause it yet.
However, I bisected to commit 48aab1606fa8 ("NFSD: Remove the cap on
number of operations per NFSv4 COMPOUND").

Tianshuo Han also reports a potential vulnerability when decoding
an NFSv4 COMPOUND. An attacker can place an arbitrarily large op
count in the COMPOUND header, which results in:

[ 51.410584] nfsd: vmalloc error: size 1209533382144, exceeds total
pages, mode:0xdc0(GFP_KERNEL|__GFP_ZERO),
nodemask=(null),cpuset=/,mems_allowed=0

when NFSD attempts to allocate the COMPOUND op array.

Let's restore the operation-per-COMPOUND limit, but increased to 200
for now.

The 6.12 tree already contains the functional changes from this revert
and enforces a stricter 50-operation cap. Retain that cap and use this
dependency to relocate struct nfsd_genl_rqstp into its sole user so the
follow-up address-width fix applies at the same location as upstream.

struct nfsd_genl_rqstp declares rq_daddr and rq_saddr as plain
"struct sockaddr" (16 bytes). When an IPv6 NFS client is connected,
nfsd_genl_rpc_status_compose_msg() casts these fields to
"struct sockaddr_in6 *" (28 bytes) and reads sin6_addr at offset 8..24,
which extends 8 bytes past the end of the 16-byte sockaddr field into
the adjacent rq_flags member.
